- Compatibility with Deck Tape: Yes, Deck Claw can be used alongside deck tape for enhanced protection.
- Use of Adhesive: We recommend using Sika Flex 11fc adhesive to provide cushioning, reduce noise, and enhance strength, making it suitable for cyclonic areas up to category 2.
- Board Gap Size: Deck Claw maintains a consistent 5mm (3/16”) gap between each board.
- Board Requirements: Standard square-edged Merbau boards are compatible; no grooves needed.
- Sanding and Coating: The system’s design allows for sanding and recoating, with the top of the weather closure sitting 4mm below the deck surface.
- Butt Joints: No special treatment required; inspect and adjust as needed after installation.
- Deck Claw Usage per Square Meter: Approximately 14 Deck Claws per square meter for 140mm boards, or 22 for 90mm boards. Using 140mm boards is more cost-efficient in terms of labour and materials.
